First of all, it is bitch ass cold here in the Northeast. Some fucking high pressure system from Canada has let loose the icy winds of death upon us, which are also from Canada. Can you believe that people actually choose to live this way? Universal health care is one thing, but let's be realistic.
Another couple months and a new year passes by. Big news this week is that www.teapothill.org is now running on the Apache HTTP server. Nerdy stuff, for sure. I'm exicted though because I still got the old big D stuff to work as well.
Dr T is out of the country again, this time in Cambodia with Miss Kalee, The Maid of Honor. They're visiting a friend of Kalee's from Colgate.edu who's working for the UN on war crimes stuff. So it's just me and Sadie, hanging tough like NKOTB. Sadie's hanging especially tough as she shows no ill effects of either this wicked cold or from my wallet, which she ate last night. Along with a credit card or two.
I'm currently working on a couple books, and the queue is rising like the tide. The Island of the Day Before (Umberto Eco) was suggested to me three years ago by my brother Topher. Dr T's dad handed me his copy of The Teammates (David Halberstam) over Thanksgiving, so those efforts are going in parallel. The Eco is the most enjoyable of his work that I've read, maybe because it's the first that I've understood. Halberstam is an excellent writer himself, and while nothing more than a light read, his latest entry into the Library of Congress is quite pleasant.
I've also been listening the shit out of the Lost in Translation soundtrack as it's been in the new Sony Dream Machine that is decorating my bedside table. It's literally the soundtrack, so songs are short, go nowhere, and are reminiscent of the movie. The highlight has to be the secret track at the end. I'll let you find it on your own.

Hey, would'ya look at that? A whole month goes by without an update. Fans everywhere are crying.
Speaking of fans crying, I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for the fans out in Oakland, but don't doubt that I'd be rooting for the A's if they were playing the Yankees. Baserunning matters, and if these outcomes were reversed (with the Sox drop 9 straight clinchers) you all know that several forests would die an early death lamenting the plight of the Boston nine. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about it because it completely ignores the great successes that this team has had over the years. And if you believe in some supernatural hex, where was it in '75 or '67? I hope the NY Times keeps CHB.
On to slightly more serious stuff, if you have the chance, check out www.timesnewroman.org for some neat photos and music.

Maybe I should wait until tomorrow to update this, since that dateline will inevitably get more nooky from the search engines than today's. Oh well.
For those in the know, the furry pup is doing well. She got "fixed" a week ago and the surgery didn't go quite as planned. There was some concern about internal bleeding and whatnot in the hours immediately following the operation, but she has regained a lot of momentum in the past few days. It's amazing how much lively she is now that she's not getting opiates administered through a skin patch.
In other news, I should be getting a new computer soon which may just conquer the world. Maybe not. Well, at least it will give me an edge over my brothers in Medal of Honor. It is a beast, although I've been waiting much too long for it to arrive since ordering it back in July. For chrissakes, I wasn't even married back then.
Sadie and I will be heading down to the Mercer County area early next week, perhaps with a quick stop to visit with Murph. Need to see about stitches and their various states of removal first. Hopefully, I'll have the new rig along for the ride.

So what else is new? Apparently, not much from me. Of course, that's not completely true, but if you are trying to keep up with my life by reading this crap, you'd probably think I was dead. In reality, I'm alive and well, but fighting a constant battle with procrastination.
So, what's happened in the absence? Well, to start with, we got a dog. Chocolate Lab. Total impluse acquisition. Also happened five months ago. Sadie is now almost 7 months old and is going under the knife tomorrow. Poor girl. All she wants to do is chew the living hell out of a rope bone and we're going to pay someone to rip out her internal organs. It's tough being a parent.
What more? How about getting married? The whole story is too long to tell here, but let's just say that everything went perfect and the weather was as beautiful as Big T herself. (I get super bonus points every time I sound like a jackass.) Of course, that's not the complete tale, but it's close enough. Soon there will be digital imagery available on the world wide web. Woo hoo.
In other news, Big T and I spent a lot of time vacationing after the wedding. We first spent a week in the Bahamas, scuba diving, drinking rum, and laying out on the beach. That was a lot of fun, but not like the economics conference that we took in during the second week. The last two weeks were spent in the Canadian Rockies, where we dodged forest fires, rafted on the white water, and I learned the basics of how to fly fish. I'm hooked. (har har)
